monochromatic friendship day card

Hi...
Here is a friendship day card I made...
Its a monochromatic ...in shade of brown..i just couldn't get the right colours in the pics though:(

I used some jute to make the bow... and did some tea dying to the white organza ribbon...got this idea from Lee's blog :)

Used some flat back pearls and ruffled up the Organza ribbon to make that trim. The sentiment is a printed one. And the background behind it has been handmade by me.. I liked the way it turned out... used some vintage photo and walnut stain distress inks too...

and this is the inside of the card...

Supplies used:

the desert bloom  pattern paper from imaginations
silhouette butterfly punch, flat back pearls and  the organza ribbon from A1Craft Supply

My 'cherished' mini album..

Hello..
This my second try on a  mini album...and I just love the way this has turned out. Wanted to incorporate pastel colours...shabby chic look ...pockets ... laces ..pearls ...flowers and so much more!!!
For this mini I made envelopes...open from top and slit sideways to give two  side  pockets on either of the pages..(U can see how they are below)... If anyone wants to know how i made this or any other element in this album ..do lemme know. I'll be happy to help...:)

The mini album has been titled 'cherished'...  I have made a banner out of handmade paper and distressed it with vintage photo and walnut stain distress inks ... and did layering with a distressed doily ..from kukies basket..

The binding.. with beads and organza ribbon which are a local buy

The back cover... hope u can see the layering of the 2 laces ...that's  because I used 2 covers...with laces on the sides...one slightly larger than the other...and layered them

and now the pages..All of 'em on the pages are DCWV fresh floral paper stack from imaginations

There are top loading pockets with photo mats in each envelope pocket page...which I have distressed back and forth using spun sugar distress ink...decorated using die cut flowers and flat back pearls and did layering with peach colored papers which are edge punched with fiskars sunburst punch...

This is the photo mat on the side pocket..

and I have hand made the small cute journaling tags :)... How do you like 'em??

The page corners I made using real thick parchment papers...

And I just love these lace flowers...they turned out sooo yummy...

A close up of the cute tags..:D

And these fabric flowers with that flower center are sooo shabby chic and beautiful and full !!  ..was so happy when I made 'em..

  couldn't avoid a close up..:P

awww... here is my first try at some quilling..cute flowers..but i love the leaves:)

and now the last page... recently bought the butterfly silhouette punch from A1 craft supply.. dis some layering on thwe butterflies

this is the pocket tag holder i made and attached it to the last page..the back cover..it can hold 4 tags or photo mats...i have used only 3 of 'em..I have used some marriage invite to make these tags..

altered candle jar

Hello all!!

Here I am posting something after a long time...was busy with some other things..
This time around I decided to try my hands on altering stuff... we all have so many things at our place which we usually throw away...so I did a small search in every corner of my house and  gathered a lot of such throwaway and neglected stuff.. a scented candle jar.. a small wooden cabinet...old cd’s.. Woven straw baskets. Small tins ...etc ...etc...
This time I altered a scented candle jar which I purchased around 10 years back from Nainital...phew!! Long time!!
I removed the dried scented petals and cleaned the jar and then took the picture...It was tooooo dirty with lot of dirt and grime...but that’s not why I took the pic later... actually I forgot to take it before... my bad!

this is how it looks now

I have used the glass jar and painted it in light brown color on the inside and then alcohol inked it on the outside...it looked wonderful...as marble...Hope you can see that...
I handmade the calla lilies... And the big roses ...and shaded them using vintage photo and walnut stain distress inks...I used jute string to make the flower vine and I love how it turned out:)...also used some flat back pearls which alcohol inked with ginger shade (that’s the darkest brown with a pretty red tinge).. you can buy these from imaginations online store..

I am entering this altered  glass jar into the following challenges:

Love to create-3 of anything- I used 3 colours...brown, green, orange... 3 flowers. Handmade roses, mulberry flowers and calla lilies... and wait 3 materials also...glass, jute ,paper

YAY!! was chosen the winner at squigglestamps-home decor and top 3 in For the love of crafting-challenge with a twist

Hope you all liked it... please leave a comment
